Division 8: Image Technology

WELCOME

to the homepage of CIE Division 8, one of the eight Technical Divisions of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). More information on the CIE can be found on the CIE Home Page.

Anyone interested in contributing to and participating in the technical work of the Division, which is carried out through its Technical Committees, is welcome to contact either the Division secretary, the Technical Committee chairperson (see below) or your country's National Committee of CIE for further information. Attendance at Division meetings (usually annual) is also open to anybody interested in this field.

Terms of Reference for CIE Division 8

To study procedures and prepare guides and standards for the optical, visual and metrological aspects of the communication, processing, and reproduction of images, using all types of analogue and digital imaging devices,storage media and imaging media.

Untersuchung von Verfahren und Erstellung von Richtilinien und Normen für die optischen, visuellen und meßtechnischen Aspekte der Übertragung, Verabeitung und Reproduktion von Bildern, unter Verwendung aller Arten von analogen und digitalen Bildaufnahme- und -wiedergabegeräten und Speichermedien.
