4.1 List of Members
Two new member* joined our TC; Ms. Itala Kucsera from Coloryte, Hungary and Dr. Peter Bodrogi, from University of Veszprem, Hungary. We now have ten members; six from Europe, three from USA, and one from Japan.

4.2 Progress since last report
TC8-04 had two physical meeting during the period. First one was at Warsaw, Poland during the 24th Session of the CIE, and second one was at Scottsdale, AZ, USA during IS&T/SID's Color Imaging Conference.

- TC has decided to start their experiments with "softcopy/hardcopy comparison." And then compare the case with "softcopy under ambient light" and "hardcopy alone".
- S-LMS model (proposed by Katoh) and CIECAM97s2 with mixed adaptation will be tested. Worked calculation examples for both models are prepared as MS/Excel at;

see http://www.colour.org/tc8-04/test_images/Sony/- Oskoui and Pirotta has performed experimets to see the effect of ambient light on the color appearance on the CRT screen (at fixed state of adaptation), and their results will be used as a background for this TC's work.

As stated above, guidelines were decided and members are about to start the experiments. TC chair expects members to have primary results by the end of next quarter. To do so, it is very important to have set of standard Test Images decided ASAP.
